Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We are now in the VSHL dead period window. There will be no work outs or green days until Tuesday 11/25.Older players, please be on the lookout soon for Turkey Shootout sign up information. We are still waiting on the organizers of the tournament (Oakton HS) to send us information. As communicated, this is our only off-season fall event that we will be competing in. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday 12/13. Be sure to keep a stick in your hands, run, and work out over these 2 weeks. See everyone soon! -Coach Nick Worek

Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, I hope you all are enjoying your “Fall Break”. Let’s be sure to come out of the break rested, and ready to get back to working hard. Let’s work on getting our attendance numbers up. Bring a teammate with you that hasn’t been attending workouts/green days. The season is quickly approaching, make sure your body and mind are ready for the journey. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse,Below are the instructions to sign up for the Fall Brawl. As stated before, we have a limit to the number of players we can have. The roster will be determined on a “first to sign up, first served basis”. This is for 9th and 10th graders only. If you have any questions if you should sign up, please ask. 1. Visit our website at www.laxnova.com 2. Click on the BLUE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION button on the LEFT menu.3. Follow the instructions to go through the DEMOSPHERE system. Some of you may already have accounts from other leagues and events that use DEMOSPHERE.4. Choose to Register a Participant/Player and choose the family member to register.5. Choose the correct SEASON and DIVISION. Next, choose the correct TEAM.6. Complete the remaining information and checkout.8. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We were just informed that the Turkey Shootout will be held on Saturday, December 13th. The Tournament will be held at Oakton HS. We are excited that the tournament will be in 100% compliance with the VHSL/FCPS/LCPS. This will be a varsity level tournament. We will send information out in the next week or so about signing up. For now, if you are a returning varsity player, a Junior/Senior, or have been practicing with the older players during Green Days, please try and keep Saturday, December 13th Open. Our current number of orders for custom equipment has not met the minimum required to place the order. If you are in the market for new gloves or arm pads, please consider placing an order. We will not be offering custom equipment for at least another 2 years, as this is something we only do every other season. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, My apologies for the delay in our weekly schedule. I have been out of town and just returned. We are excited to have a great week of work. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We have been informed that the VHSL (Virginia High School League) has tightened our out-of-season regulations. Unfortunately, as a result, we need to make some adjustments to our fall schedule. We wanted to communicate these adjustments as soon as possible. LaxNova Fall Brawl:There was an email sent to us yesterday saying that the Fall Brawl will no longer be taking place on the originally planned weekend of November 22-23rd. They are looking for another date/location. They said they will be in contact with those changes ASAP. Atlantic Coast Showcase (St. Johns):Unfortunately, due to the regulations set forth by the VHSL, we will not be participating in the Atlantic Coast Showcase (scheduled for November 23rd) this year. Oakton Turkey Shootout:Due to the regulations set forth by the VHSL, the date for the Oakton Turkey Shootout needs to be moved to be in compliance. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, Every two years, with help from Maverick/BSN, we create a custom equipment for you to purchase if you are interested. This gear is authentic to only Riverside Lacrosse. This shop is completely OPTIONAL. We have custom gloves and arm protection (3 different styles). There are also other items on the shop such as cleats, shafts, heads etc… By starting the shop this early, we will HOPEFULLY have the gear near the holiday season. Although nothing can be guaranteed when dealing with custom items. The equipment shop is now OPEN. We will be opening a fall apparel store for fans/families soon as well. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We hope everyone has an amazing homecoming weekend. Please be safe, make good decisions, take care of your teammates in a positive way, and most importantly have fun!We are hoping the weather will cooperate this week for our Green Day that is scheduled for next Wednesday 9/24 from 4:30-6:30pm in the Stadium. We are getting close to starting our offseason strength and conditioning program. We are excited to have Coach Greg Fenner back as our strength and conditioning coordinator. Coach Fenner is a marketing teacher here at Riverside HS and has been a part of our lacrosse coaching staff since 2019. He is the founder and lead coach at A1 Performance, training athletes since 2013. He is certified in USA Weightlifting Level 2, NASM Performance Enhancement, NSPA Speed & Agility, and holds multiple master’s degrees in the field of exercise science.
