Athletic Paperwork Requirements for 2025-26--please complete now
Riverside Athletes and Parents, Happy first day of summer! This correspondence contains information about athletic paperwork, VHSL physicals, online paperwork, and fall sports tryouts. We have a few new processes to make you aware of. ATHLETIC PHYSICALS: In the past, all students needed a new VHSL physical each school year. New state law; however, allows for VHSL physicals to be valid for 14 months from the date of the doctor’s physical. The physical must still be on the VHSL form (which is posted on RiversideRams.Net under “Required Forms for Participation”). Students’ physicals will expire 14 months after the date of the last physical. Please realize that often will be in the middle of a sports season, so please keep your VHSL doctor’s physical current. They can continue to be emailed to Matt.Oblas@LCPS.org throughout the summer. Please only send Pages 1-3, as Pages 4-6 remain with the medical provider.&

VHSL Doctor's Physical-- new law regarding physical date
Riverside parents, Virginia state code/law changed and now allows for VHSL physicals to remain valid for 14 months from the date of the physical. In the past, all physicals expired on June 30 and new ones were required each school year. Now, a physical may carry over from one school year to the next as long as it's not older than 14 months. When parents register their child for sports online (which won't open until mid June), they will be asked to enter the date of the doctor's physical. The Riverside athletic office will verify that date is correct after checking the actual physical paperwork. Parents will receive 30, 60, and 90 day automatic emails to remind you that the physical is set to expire. Please make sure to not allow a physical to expire, as this would cause the athlete to need to stop playing or practicing when the physical expired. There may be a few paperwork challenges and processes to figure out for the athletic of

WATCH ALL RIVERSIDE EVENTS LIVE this year !
Dear RIVERSIDE FAMILIES and FANS, Riverside High School is proud to announce that we have partnered with the NFHS Network to broadcast our Rams athletic events LIVE. That means that if you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched from anywhere on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV. LCPS has been working for the last year on the partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast live all LCPS athletic contests. This process started well before the current COVID pandemic, but obviously the NFHS Network now provides a platform for LCPS families to watch any sporting event in the county during the current pandemic and spectator restrictions. Even after COVID, the NFHS Network will be a great way to watch games when you cannot attend or for out of town family and friends to watch games. Anyone with a subscription can watch any of our athletic contests. By subscribing to the NFHS Network you

Banquet Date Change
Boys Varsity LacrosseGreetings Riverside Lacrosse, Thank you all for your support after our tough loss on Wednesday night. We will learn, grow and be better moving forward. A few items for you:After speaking with parent contacts and trying our best to balance the end of the school year schedule, we have decided to move the banquet up a week. Our end of the season banquet will now be on Monday 6/9 @ 6:00pm in the cafeteria. For those who are new to the program, we will have a nice meal together as a program to begin the banquet, followed by player recognition and awards. Players are asked to dress nicely (polo golf shirts, and nice shorts are fine). Please be looking for a follow up email shortly, from our Banquet coordinators, with more information. If any players are planning on playing lacrosse this summer and need any equipment. Please let us know, we can check out gear for you for the summer at the end of the banquet. There is a great event this summer taking place in the Baltimore area.

Time Change for Independence Games
Boys Varsity LacrosseGreetings Riverside Lacrosse, With weather in the spring, we often have changes. Tomorrow our game times vs. Independence are now flipped. Varsity will play at 6:00pm (I assume they we try and start ASAP so please arrive early). JV will play following the Varsity contest (Most likely around 7:30pm/7:45pm). We encourage the JV parents to come early and cheer on the Varsity team. Varsity will not have a team meal, as the Varsity bus will leave at 4:30pm. Bring a small snack if you need to have something prior to play. JV will report by 4:30pm. JV bus will leave at 5:30. Please pack something to eat before your game. We also suggest each JV player bringing an umbrella for before the game while you are watching the Varsity play. The forecast is calling for heavy rain! We are excited for that type of weather; it will be great high school memory and so much fun! With that said, please plan accordingly. ALL IN, -Coach Worek

Boys Varsity LacrosseGreetings Riverside Lacrosse, I hope you all are enjoying your weekend! We are excited for our Home Opening Game this coming Friday! Weather (as of now looks to be great). Let’s get a huge crowd out there and be loud cheering on our boys. The website I have been told has been updated. Goals are performance-based. They reinforce what we want to achieve. Such as winning a game, scoring well on test/quiz, meeting quarterly business numbers, or winning a championship.
