Riverside parents, Virginia state code/law changed and now allows for VHSL physicals to remain valid for 14 months from the date of the physical.   In the past, all physicals expired on June 30 and new ones were required each school year.   Now, a physical may carry over from one school year to the next as long as it's not older than 14 months.  When parents register their child for sports online (which won't open until mid June), they will be asked to enter the date of the doctor's physical.  The Riverside athletic office will verify that date is correct after checking the actual physical paperwork.   Parents will receive 30, 60, and 90 day automatic emails to remind you that the physical is set to expire.  Please make sure to not allow a physical to expire, as this would cause the athlete to need to stop playing or practicing when the physical expired.  There may be a few paperwork challenges and processes to figure out for the athletic of

LCPS has been working for the last year on the partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast live all LCPS athletic contests.  This process started well before the current COVID pandemic, but obviously the NFHS Network now provides a platform for LCPS families to watch any sporting event in the county during the current pandemic and spectator restrictions.  Even after COVID, the NFHS Network will be a great way to watch games when you cannot attend or for out of town family and friends to watch games.  Anyone with a subscription can watch any of our athletic contests.   By subscribing to the NFHS Network you

Greetings Riverside Lacrosse,We have some unfortunate news for Wednesday's schedule. Lightridge High School is not able to field a JV team for Wednesday's scheduled game. Because of this, our JV season has concluded. It was an amazing season; you all should be proud of all that you accomplished.Today, we will be collecting all the JV equipment and issued items. Thank you again for an amazing season, and we hope/encourage you all to come out to the Varsity games throughout the playoffs. There will be a few JV players that will be asked to join the Varsity team to help with preparation during the playoffs. They will be notified after school today. Due to the JV cancelation, the Varsity game vs. Lightridge has been moved up to 6:00pm on Wednesday. This also moves up the senior night celebration. Senior parents, please meet on the track by 5:40pm. We will start the recognition at 5:50pm. Thank you for your understanding and adjustment. ALL IN, -Coach Nick Worek
