Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, First, we hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with friends and family. I apologize for the late weekly email, yesterday was a very long and fun day for the Fall Brawlers! Parents thank you for braving the weather and being such a positive cheering force for us. We were so proud of how hard our boys played. Even after splitting our younger players into two teams (only school that did that at the JV level), we were still extremely competitive on both teams, with the white team even making the semi-final game! Most importantly, everyone played a lot, got better, and had a ton of fun!Shifting now back to our off-season program. It is essential that our attendance improves at our scheduled team lifts, runs, and green days. If you are not playing a winter sport, the expectation is that you are at every event. Today is the college athlete celebration ceremony. We have 4 seniors that will be recognized this afternoon. If you want to come by and support them, it starts at 4:30pm in the cafeteria. There will be no work outs or green days until Tuesday 11/25.Older players, please be on the lookout soon for Turkey Shootout sign up information. We are still waiting on the organizers of the tournament (Oakton HS) to send us information. As communicated, this is our only off-season fall event that we will be competing in. The roster will be determined on a “first to sign up, first served basis”. This is for 9th and 10th graders only. If you have any questions if you should sign up, please ask. 1. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We were just informed that the Turkey Shootout will be held on Saturday, December 13th. The Tournament will be held at Oakton HS. We are excited that the tournament will be in 100% compliance with the VHSL/FCPS/LCPS. This will be a varsity level tournament. We will send information out in the next week or so about signing up. For now, if you are a returning varsity player, a Junior/Senior, or have been practicing with the older players during Green Days, please try and keep Saturday, December 13th Open. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We have been informed that the VHSL (Virginia High School League) has tightened our out-of-season regulations. Unfortunately, as a result, we need to make some adjustments to our fall schedule. We wanted to communicate these adjustments as soon as possible. LaxNova Fall Brawl:There was an email sent to us yesterday saying that the Fall Brawl will no longer be taking place on the originally planned weekend of November 22-23rd. They are looking for another date/location. They said they will be in contact with those changes ASAP. Atlantic Coast Showcase (St. Johns):Unfortunately, due to the regulations set forth by the VHSL, we will not be participating in the Atlantic Coast Showcase (scheduled for November 23rd) this year. Oakton Turkey Shootout:Due to the regulations set forth by the VHSL, the date for the Oakton Turkey Shootout needs to be moved to be in compliance.
