Clear Bag Policy & Metal Detectors at LCPS Varsity Football Games
Students, staff and visitors may notice new security measures across Loudoun County Public Schools. These efforts reflect the division’s continued commitment to creating safe, welcoming environments for all. While not every element of the LCPS security plan is shared publicly for safety reasons, two visible changes will take effect beginning in fall 2025 at home varsity football games.Clear Bag Policy: Only clear bags will be permitted through the ticket gates at any LCPS high school hosting a varsity football game. This change aligns LCPS with safety practices already in place in neighboring school divisions and at many collegiate and professional venues. To support this transition, school athletic directors have partnered with booster clubs to offer school-branded clear bags. Families interested in obtaining a personalized bag are encouraged to contact their school’s booster organization.Bag Guidelines:· Must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC·&nb

VHSL Doctor's Physical-- new law regarding physical date
Riverside parents, Virginia state code/law changed and now allows for VHSL physicals to remain valid for 14 months from the date of the physical. In the past, all physicals expired on June 30 and new ones were required each school year. Now, a physical may carry over from one school year to the next as long as it's not older than 14 months. When parents register their child for sports online (which won't open until mid June), they will be asked to enter the date of the doctor's physical. The Riverside athletic office will verify that date is correct after checking the actual physical paperwork. Parents will receive 30, 60, and 90 day automatic emails to remind you that the physical is set to expire. Please make sure to not allow a physical to expire, as this would cause the athlete to need to stop playing or practicing when the physical expired. There may be a few paperwork challenges and processes to figure out for the athletic of

Dear RIVERSIDE FAMILIES and FANS, Riverside High School is proud to announce that we have partnered with the NFHS Network to broadcast our Rams athletic events LIVE. That means that if you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched from anywhere on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV. LCPS has been working for the last year on the partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast live all LCPS athletic contests. This process started well before the current COVID pandemic, but obviously the NFHS Network now provides a platform for LCPS families to watch any sporting event in the county during the current pandemic and spectator restrictions. Even after COVID, the NFHS Network will be a great way to watch games when you cannot attend or for out of town family and friends to watch games. Boys Varsity LacrosseGreetings Riverside Lacrosse, We hope everyone is staying warm on this very cold Sunday. We want to thank everyone for making yesterday such an awesome day. A special thank you to Brenda Stromberg and Missy Zulandi, our team parents, for organizing and planning a great team camp. The boys played great and got better throughout the day. We discussed during the week that we had a few goals for the day. We wanted to have Energy, Effort, and sincere Enthusiasm. We also wanted players to be coachable and take/make corrections as the day went on. We as coaches were very pleased and felt that all players met the goals for the day with flying colors! We discussed at the end of yesterday that we have a great opportunity to now spend time working on things that each player may individually need to work on. Then, as a team, we can improve on our strength and conditioning heading into late February and the beginning of the 2026 campaign. Here is the schedule for the week:Monday

Week of 12/1
Boys Varsity LacrosseGreetings Riverside Lacrosse, First, we hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with friends and family. I apologize for the late weekly email, yesterday was a very long and fun day for the Fall Brawlers! Parents thank you for braving the weather and being such a positive cheering force for us. We were so proud of how hard our boys played. Even after splitting our younger players into two teams (only school that did that at the JV level), we were still extremely competitive on both teams, with the white team even making the semi-final game! Most importantly, everyone played a lot, got better, and had a ton of fun!Shifting now back to our off-season program. It is essential that our attendance improves at our scheduled team lifts, runs, and green days. If you are not playing a winter sport, the expectation is that you are at every event. This means that we lift as a team, run as a team, and practice as a team. You are more than welcome to do more on your own, but the expectat
