VHSL Doctor's Physical-- new law regarding physical date

Riverside parents, Virginia state code/law changed and now allows for VHSL physicals to remain valid for 14 months from the date of the physical.   In the past, all physicals expired on June 30 and new ones were required each school year.   Now, a physical may carry over from one school year to the next as long as it's not older than 14 months.  When parents register their child for sports online (which won't open until mid June), they will be asked to enter the date of the doctor's physical.  The Riverside athletic office will verify that date is correct after checking the actual physical paperwork.   Parents will receive 30, 60, and 90 day automatic emails to remind you that the physical is set to expire.  Please make sure to not allow a physical to expire, as this would cause the athlete to need to stop playing or practicing when the physical expired.  There may be a few paperwork challenges and processes to figure out for the athletic of

Dear RIVERSIDE FAMILIES and FANS,   Riverside High School is proud to announce that we have partnered with the NFHS Network to broadcast our Rams athletic events LIVE. That means that if you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched from anywhere on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV. LCPS has been working for the last year on the partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast live all LCPS athletic contests.  This process started well before the current COVID pandemic, but obviously the NFHS Network now provides a platform for LCPS families to watch any sporting event in the county during the current pandemic and spectator restrictions.  Even after COVID, the NFHS Network will be a great way to watch games when you cannot attend or for out of town family and friends to watch games.  Anyone with a subscription can watch any of our athletic contests.   By subscribing to the NFHS Network you

Potomac Falls Game Adjustment

Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, We have been informed that Potomac Falls will not have enough players to field a JV team for this Thursday’s game (5/7). Therefore, there will be NO JV GAME on Thursday 5/7. Our Varsity Game at Potomac Falls will now be played at 6:00pm on Thursday 5/7. There will be no team meal for varsity. Greetings Riverside Lacrosse, What an amazing spring weekend we are having. I hope you are using this time to relax, recover, and catch up on schoolwork. This is the last week of lacrosse before spring break. Two back-to-back games this week, and we are at home! Items to note:We are still looking for 1 more person to help film VARSITY games this spring. We only need help for 3-4 games. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE… Film is so important to what we do as a program and helping the boys learn and grow. Please be sure we are taking gear home and washing your things.. We recommend at least once a week. Wash your pads on and practice jersey on cold/gentle. Air-Dry them. “Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you”. Riverside Swim Teams Have Successful Region 5D Championship Meet

Yesterday at Claude Moore in Sterling, VA, the Riverside Rams Swim Teams competed in the VHSL Region 5D Championship Meet. It was a great day for the Rams, with the Boys Team finishing 2nd and the Girls Team finishing 3rd.
