Parents,
Due to possible weather this evening here is the plan for tonights games
Tonight’s freshmen and JV football games vs. Loudoun County HS are on as of 12:15pm, BUT THE GAMES ARE NOW REVERSED. JV will play first tonight at 5:30pm. Freshmen will follow tonight at 7pm.
Flip flopping the games tonight provides us more flexibility to reschedule if we are not able to play both games tonight. Freshmen football games can be played on any day of the week, while JV is a bit more restrictive on days of the week to play due to varsity games on Friday nights.
JV Players may need help getting stuff they need for their game tonight as they wont have enough time to go home and get back for their game. They may also need something to eat after school since they normally have time to go home after school on game nights. I will do my best to help them if they are missing certain items.
Thank you for your patience as we all go through these tough weather situations.

Dear Parents,
It's been a couple of years since we traveled further than an hour away. I wanted to give you the plan and expectations for this Friday.
Player's will be released from class at 2:15pm and our bus leaves at 2:30pm. Players will be given a large trash bag that they will pack with their helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey/pants, socks, cleats, gloves as well as a towel, change of clothes for after the game. The players will shower at John Paul the Great and then pack up their stuff in a new trash bag that we will give them. Players will turn in their game pants and jerseys after the game. We expect the players to get muddy as we are playing on grass tomorrow. We have very limited space on the buses and each player can't bring their own gym bag of stuff. Everything will need to get packed in the trash bags.
We will carry the subway food and waters with us on the bus and the players will eat once we get settled in at JPtG. If player's want to eat after the game they will have to bring some food with them or you can bring it for them to the game and give it to them.
I am hoping that we can play our game on time and I think the earliest we would be able to depart JPtG is by 10:30pm which puts us back at Riverside around 11:30pm-midnight.
Cell Phones-I normally ask players to not bring cell phones on the bus with us as they become a distraction and we need to focus on what we are about to accomplish. However it is a long trip and I am willing to compromise. Player's are allowed to bring their cell phones and they will turn them off and turn them in to myself and Coach Porter before they get on the bus. Player's will not have their phones on while we are headed to the game. We will put them in a bag on each bus (which is locked) Once we get back on the bus to come home and the game is over we will return the phones so players can use them on the way home as well as contact you to let you know what time we may be arriving home.
Admission-It is a private school but I have no idea about admission. Be prepared to pay is my best guess.
Saturday Practice-I will determine what we are going to do for Saturday practice for Varsity and JV once we get thru Friday's game.
If there is an emergency and you need to contact your player please call/text me as I will have my phone on me for any emergencies. My cell number is (703) 973-1132.
As always we hope to see you at the game! I know it is far and their aren't many stands for fans to sit. Bring layers and an umbrella.
If you have any questions/concerns you may always contact Coach Day at brian.day@lcps.org.

Dear Parents,
I wanted to say thank you to you for your flexibility and help during this difficult time with the extreme heat and practices/games being shuffled. I know it is hard on your schedules and I appreciate the kids being at practice on time.
I wanted to give you a heads up headed into next week should we get hit with the kind of storms we think we are. If we can't get outside because of storms then we are looking at going later in the evening in the main gym when it becomes available.
Once we know more I will make an announcement so we all know what to expect. I have asked older players to help with rides and getting teammates where they are supposed to be.
If there is an issue that I need to know about then please contact me at brian.day@lcps.org.
Thank you again,
Coach

Dear Parents,
I wanted to update you on this weekends practice schedule. Hopefully we will play Friday with no interruptions from the weather. I want to give players off Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. We will practice on Monday, Sept. 3rd at 3pm-7pm. We will watch film and then go outside for practice (assuming the weather allows)
This schedule is assuming that we don't get canceled on Friday and have to play either Saturday or Monday. Should anything happen I will update the schedule immediately.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact Coach Day at brian.day@lcps.org

For multiple reason we will need to adjust our varsity and jv practice schedule for Thursday to 7:00AM-8:30AM. The team will meet in the afternoon at 5:30pm for our team meeting, uniform handout and team dinner at 6:15pm as usual.
Tomorrow players will wear helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey and shorts.
We have many players who need to miss practice in the afternoon due to the driver's license meeting they must attend.
Thank you for your assistance and help the last couple of days.

Dear Parents,
Due to extreme weather conditions today and tomorrow we have a couple of changes we need to share with you.
Today our JV/Varsity players are going to lift and do film until 6:45pm. Freshman are currently finishing game film and will lift this afternoon.
Tomorrow 8/29-
The weather won't improve tomorrow and our only chance to get outside and practice in full gear will be to practice at 6:30AM tomorrow morning. We will practice until 8:30AM. Players will be allowed to shower before school and are expected to make it to class by 9:15am. I have asked Varsity players to assist in getting teammates to practice for tomorrow AM.
Freshman will lift afterschool tomorrow from 4:15pm-5:45pm.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me by either email or by phone.
Thanks,

Dear Parents,
Our schedule is going to change for Friday, August 17th. I would like the players to report at 1:30pm to start our film session and our lift program.
This is for all players:
Varsity/JV 10th-12th will come to the weight room and lift at 1:30pm. At 3pm we will do our email fundraising campign with the EteamSponsor Rep. After we get done with fundraiser we will break up for film and watch our Tuscarora Scrimmage and some Rock Ridge Film preparing for the first game of the season.
Freshman will report to Coach Fenner's classroom.
All players need to be in athletic gear, with the proper shoes to lift in.
All players need to have their 20 emails form with them four our fundraiser.
We will be done by 4:30pm on Friday and will start again next Monday at 4pm.
If you have any question's or concerns please email Coach Day at brian.day@lcps.org
Thanks,
Coach Day

Dear Parents,
As I mentioned in the parent meeting we will be doing our email campaign instead of the letter writing campaign. I will need you help to get 20 emails of family and friends in the community. The best part of using the EteamSponsor is they will send out a tax-deductible receipt as well as a thank you for donating email on our behalf.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 that will allow us to purchase new uniforms and other needs with in the football program. If your family wants to make a personal donation all you need to do is write a check instead of going through the website.
Many of our athletes who have played baseball and lacrosse have already participated in this fundraiser and know how it works.
LCPS has been so impressed with EteamSponsor that they are looking to use them as their only fundraising website.
I have attached the information sheet the players will need to fill out under our team files link on RiversideRams.net. You are more than welcome to download it and start to fill it out.
These forms will be due on Friday and we will be filling out the website before we watch film of the Tuscarora Scrimmage.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Coach Day at brian.day@lcps.org

Dear Parents,
Riverside Football will be participating in helping our local Loudoun Hunger Relief Food Pantry Warehouse sort and organize their food. We are asking each player to participate on one shift on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday next week from 4pm-6pm. I apologize for the late notice but this opportunity just manifested and I really wanted to take it and help the community and this awesome organization. We could also use parent help in getting our players to the facility on those nights as well as anyone who wants to participate and supervise for two hours.
I will assign players a designated evening. If there is a schedule issue please just let me know and we can either move the player to another evening to help out.
Below are more details on this event.
Where: Loudoun Hunger Relief Food Pantry Warehouse
448 S. King Street, Leesburg (back part of Rite-Aid building, corner of King & Catoctin
When: Mon-Wed (8/6-8/8) from 4-6pm
What: 3 shifts of boys (Coach Day organizing by position), 1 per night
Each player does one 2 hour shift of sorting/organizing boxed and canned food in warehouse
Who: 3-5 team parents will be there each day to supervise
Why: Loudoun Hunger Relief provides county families facing short-term crises a place to get basic needs met (food) while they get back on their feet; helped over 11,000 individuals in Loudoun County last year, over half of them children. This is an opportunity for our boys to band together and help out their greater community.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact Coach Day.
Thank you,
Coach Day

Dear Parents,
Next week Riverside Football after practices we will be volunteering our time to help our local community. We will be helping our local Loudoun Hunger Relief next week by helping sorting and organizing food for those in need here in Loudoun County.
Here is the information and details below. We will need parents help to get players to the local warehouse in Leesburg. If you would like to also participate and volunteer your time and help surpervise it would be greatly appreciated. We are asking the players to donate one evening for 2 hours from 4pm-6pm to help our community. I realize this is being sprung late and last minute but when this opportunity came to my attention I really felt in my heart that this is something that our team needs to do. I am going to tell which players are going on certain nights by position groups. However we have flexibility and can make adjustments if players or families have plans made already.
