Feb. 24th-March 6th VHSL SPRING DEAD PERIOD

Who is expected to attend?

Players who are participating in a winter sport here at Riverside are exempt from lifting during this winter period.

Players who aren't playing a winter sport here at Riverside are expected to lift with the team each day.

If a player is having a ride issue please let me know ASAP and I will try to pair that player with a teammate who can help get him home after lifting.

Players use their phones to access Teambuildr app that tracks data for us and is how players see their workouts. However players can also access their Teambuildr account using one of the laptops we have available in the weight room. The reason I tell you this is so you know that you can take your players phone for parenting reasons and we will be just fine. Don't let them tell you that they need their phone for lifting. :)

Nutrition

We have several resources that we will share with you and the players to help maximize their efforts in the weight room and maximize their muscle growth. I can tell you be all accounts our players are not eating enough calories to put on weight.

Players do not need anything other than eat more carbs/protein and drink plenty of water during the day. No special, expensive powders etc.

Sleep

Sleep is also a critical element to growth and recovery for each athlete. The key word here is consistency.

If you want more information please don't hesitate to contact Coach Day brian.day@lcps.org.

Thank you for your help as we enter the next phase of our football program.
