The Riverside Varsity Boys team stepped on the mats for the first time this season at the Tuscarora Duals.  The Rams fell to Briar Woods 27-45; Mountain View 24-54; Atlee 36-42; and George Marshall 27-54.  The Rams defeated South Lakes 42-37.  

The scores of these matches doesn't reflect that the rams entered two young full varsity teams as one and adjusted their lineup to insure that both lineups have matches.  Having two full lineups is a first for Riverside.

Stand out performances came from Sophomore Chase Arnestad at the 132 weight class and Mikey Harrigan at the 170 weight class.  Both wrestled returning state placers in multiple matches and showed that they are on par with state level competition.

First year wrestlers Jericho Reyes (9), Brian Vera (11), and Ravin Joshi (10) were additional stand outs as all three wrestled in matches against past state qualifiers. All three gained valuable experience and showed growth as an athlete.

 
Up next for the Rams, they will take on Potomac Falls and Independence High School in a Tri-Meet at Potomac Falls on Tuesday, December 10th @6pm.
