Capping off a great season, the Riverside Rams Golf team finished 3rd at the 3A State Championships. Final scores for the 2-day event were Blacksburg - 611, Hidden Valley - 614, Riverside - 633, New Kent - 660. First Day scores for the Rams were led by freshman, Jack Gessaman, who shot a 76. Kellen Pluntke (81), Shreya Ganta (81), and Mason Ambuhl (83) rounded out the top 4 for the first day total of 321. Second day scorers for the Rams were led by senior Chad Musa who fired a career low 72 in his last ride with the golf team. Jack G. followed with a 78 to score sub-80's in both rounds. Rounding out the other scores were Louie Stathis (82) and Kellen Pluntke (80) for 312 team total.

Jack G. shot a 2-day total 154 to place T-9 as an individual and Chad M. shot a 159 to finish T-14 overall. Highlights for the Rams included an 80-ft birdie putt by Chad M., Jack G. sticking a 210 5-iron to 6 inches (thanks for letting him borrow the club, Dad), Shreya G. and Mason A. almost recording the first aces for RHS golf, Louie S. piping his first 300+ yd. drive, and Kellen P. making some great up and downs for par saving strokes by playing smart. Congrats to all the golfers on the team for a successful season and the first appearance at the state golf tournament!
