In a nail biter of a Conference Championship match, Riverside pulled away with a victory! The match consisted of several back and forths with Brentsville winning the first and fourth sets while Riverside won the second, third, and fifth sets. Set scores were: 15-25, 29-27, 25-11, 14-25, and 15-12. Brentsville led for all but a few points in set one and controlled the vast majority of set four. Riverside and Brentsville were neck and neck for set two, but the Rams had a command of set three. Set five started with the Tigers in the lead before a brief switch and switch back. After being tied up at 10-10, the Rams took the lead and closed out the match for a conference title. In the battle, Riverside tallied 43 kills, three solo blocks, four assisted blocks, 31 digs, and thirteen aces. As the Conference Champions, Riverside will host Armstrong on Monday in the Region 3A East Quarterfinal match.
