In the Lady Rams' competition debut, all members of the squad contributed to a scrimmage win 3-2 over Strasburg High School. The Rams battled hard in the opening set forcing the game into extra points for a final score of 27-29. Riverside rallied back in sets two, three, and four with scores of 26-24, 25-21, and 25-18. The fifth set was a tough 13-15 loss.
Offensive highlights include four aces from Christianna Stephenson and eight kills from Kendall Boxe, Ashley Schaberg, and Christianna Stephenson. Kendall Boxe led the blocking party with four blocks. Arden Barrett set up the hitters with 15 assists with Capris Callis following up with 12 assists. Loren Klass and Courtney Miyashiro held down the defense for the Lady Rams taking the brunt of Strasburg's attacks and serves.
At the end of the day, it was a very good start to the Riverside Volleyball program!
