Greetings Riverside Lacrosse,
Just a reminder about tomorrow’s events. Tomorrow will be our equipment hand out and conditioning test. If you are planning on playing lacrosse this year, please be in rm1807 by 4:30pm.
If you have any Riverside issued equipment (Helmets, pads, jerseys) be sure to bring them with you.
All players, be sure you bring full sweats, cleats, tennis shoes, layers, gloves, winter hats and water. We are planning to be outside for 20-25min. We will be moving the entire time. If you do not have these items, you will not be able to participate.
Be sure you have your signed Tryout Agreement.
Seniors plan on staying for about 30 minutes after your conditioning test. We need to get things ready!

We hope you are enjoying this long weekend. We are unsure about the weather for the week, so this schedule may change. We will update you if there are any changes as soon as possible. As for now this is how the week will look:
Tuesday 2/18 – Lifting. 6:50-8:15am
Wednesday 2/19 – Off
Thursday 2/20 – Condition Test/Equipment Handout. 4:30-6:30pm (room 1807)
Be sure to have full sweats, cleats and tennis shoes, and water.

Reminder:
Tryouts are planned for February 24-26, 2025

Register with the Team
All interested athletes should register on the team management portal using the team’s registration code: RVLO6958. No payment of team dues is required unless you make the team. (Team dues final payment must be made by February 28th.)
Tryouts will be held on February 24, 25 and 26 after school at the Maverick Rowing Center 43465 Riverpoint Dr Lansdowne, VA 20176, between 5:00 and 7:00PM each of the three days. You MUST attend all 3 days of tryouts.
The team roster will be announced during school on Thursday, February 27.
Complete all LCPS requirements
Required forms must be submitted to LCPS for all athletes. Detailed instructions are available online.

Riverside Rams Finished 2nd & 3rd at Region Championship Meet

At Dulles South Recreation Center today, the Riverside Rams competed in an exciting Region 5D Championship Meet. The Rams had a strong showing, with the Boys finishing 2nd to Independence, and the Girls taking 3rd behind Briar Woods and Potomac Falls. Rams were exceptional in their races today with many achieving personal best times and qualifying for the State Championship meet. In addition, a 7-year old team record was broken by Elle Santucci in the 100 Backstroke.
The Rams dropped time in over 90% of their races today. Qualifying for the State Championship based on their times today and/or during the season or by their finishes in the meet today are the following:
Boys 200 Medley Relay – Tolga Kilic, Nikita Kresin, Lucas Pham, Harper Freeman
Girls 200 Medley Relay – Elle Santucci, Sophie Cadd, Emily Perham, Gigi Cisneros

Happy Friday! I wanted to get ahead and send the schedule for next week out. We are expecting a possible winter storm coming Tuesday/Wednesday. If that happens, and there is no school, the events on those days would be canceled.
Next week 2/10-2/14:
Monday 2/10 – Stick Work 4:30-5:15pm (Practice Turf)
Tuesday 2/11 – Lifting 6:50-8:15am. Green Day 7-9pm (Stadium)
Wednesday 2/12 – Interest Meeting 4:26-5:15pm (rm 1807)
Spread the word, all players interested in playing this season should attend. We will be covering tryout information and expectations.
If we do not have school, we will hold the interest meeting on the NEXT DAY WE ARE IN SCHOOL. Same time and location.

Greetings Riverside Lacrosse,
Our Riverside Basketball Team has a huge game tonight vs. Potomac Falls. Many of our lacrosse players are leaders around the building and want to support classmates and friends in the basketball program. We also feel that it is important to your overall high school experience to do so, supporting other teams and having Ram Pride. We will be canceling our Green Day tonight 2/4. Please plan on attending the basketball senior night game tonight vs. Pot Falls and cheering positively for our team.
We do encourage you to get out and get some lacrosse work in on your own. Wall ball, stick-work and conditioning are always a top priority.

Riverside Swim Team - Girls win District, Boys take second

esterday at Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling, VA, the Riverside Rams and Independence Tigers wrapped up the regular season with an exciting meet. With their strong victory of 179-107, the Rams Girls Team captured the Potomac District Championship. The Boys fought hard, but lost for the only time this season, with the Tigers capturing the title 122-164.
It was a great regular season for the Rams, with the Girls finishing 8-0 and the Boys ending the season 7-1. This is the first title for the Rams since 2019.
Once we have the finalized official results, they will be posted on RiversideRams.net.
Next up for the Rams is the Region 5D Championship on Saturday, February 8 at Claude Moore.

Monday 1/27 – No School. Stick Work is canceled due to field conditions.
Tuesday 1/28 – No School. Lifting 6:50-8:15am. Green Day 7-9pm (Status TBD)
Those that are in weight training class, please plan on attending all team lifts this week. You will be doing supplemental movements and building team chemistry as we are about a month out.
We will be evaluating field conditions and let all know about the status of the green day by around Noon on Tuesday.
Wednesday 1/29 – No School. OFF.
Thursday 1/30 – Conditioning 6:50-8:15am
Friday 1/31 – Lifting 6:50-8:15am
Reminder to keep trying to get friends to come out and try lacrosse this year. We love multiple sport athletes and want to introduce our great sport to anyone interested in playing.
