Yesterday at Claude Moore Recreation Center, the Riverside Rams Swim Teams topped the Park View Patriots Swim Teams in an energetic and fun meet. The final scores: Boys 225-55; Girls 214-65. As part of the fun, the Riverside Swim Teams had an intra-school content between the Boys and Girls Teams. The Boys team came out victorious this year, ending the Girls Team's 2-year championship reign.
Notable swims from yesterday include Sidney Ramirez and Emma Sullivan, both of whom dropped significant time in the 500 free -- 11 seconds and 8 seconds, respectively. On the Boys side, Freshman HT Tragle made an impressive return to competition with dominating swims in both the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. His performance was noted by the pool's lifeguard who wanted to know where he came from (note that the lifeguard was Riverside swim alum, Isabelle Kahng!).

Rams,
Welcome to the 2020-21 swim season. It is going to be a great year! Coach Keeton and I are excited and cannot wait to get things rolling this week.
As we discussed at our meeting on Friday, we have a lot of new responsibilities during the pandemic. We MUST make sure that we follow all requirements and safety precautions throughout the season so that we can do our best to be safe and healthy, and to keep the swim season moving forward.
If you have not already done so, please take care of the following as quickly as possible:
- Submit your $75 athletic fee to Riverside Athletics
- Pay for your tshirt and masks, and any caps you choose to purchase.
- Turn in your signed rules page
- Purchase/Organize your equipment: Suit, Goggles, Pull Buoys, Fins, Kickboard and Snorkel. Make sure you have a water bottle (full) for each practice!
We need to be extremely organized and respectful at the pool. The Lansdowne HOA has been very generous to us to allow us to use their facility (yes, LCPS does rent it for us). We do not want to lose this relationship.
Remember the following:
- You must complete the LCPS COVID survey by noon every day that you have practice. If it is not completed, you cannot enter the facility.
- You must bring a completed Lansdowne HOA form (in your make the team packet) to every practice at Lansdowne.
- You must wear a mask at all times unless you are in the water.
- You must bring your own full water bottle. There are no water fountains available.
- You must use the restroom BEFORE coming to practice. Bathrooms are to be used for emergencies only.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes before your practice start time for temperature checks, etc. We are in the water and swimming at the start of practice.
Also, we always finish practice on time. Therefore, we request that all parents to please be at the pool to pick up your swimmers at 6:0. This will avoid having swimmers (and coaches) standing outside in the cold waiting for pick-ups.
You can purchase your team suit any swim equipment that you need through the Riverside Rams Swim Team Store on SwimOutlet - https://www.swimoutlet.com/rvhsramsswim/
You can purchase any swim items that you want/need on SwimOutlet and by entering through the Rams Swim Team Store, the team earns a residual payment.
