Head Varsity Coach

Biography:

Coach Day has built the Riverside Football program from day one in 2015. The Riverside football program has doubled its win total each year and made the 2018 Division 4 playoffs with an 8-2 record. Coach Day is entering his 18th year coaching high school football. Coach Day has spent nine years at Westfield HS, two years at Herndon HS, one year at Flint Hill and Centreville HS, and the last four at Riverside HS.

Coach Day has won two VHSL Division 6 State Championships in 2003 & 2007, VHSL Division 6 State Runner Up in 2011. Coach Day has also won three Division 6 Region Championships and 8 Concorde District Championships. Coach Day was named the Dulles District Coach of the Year in 2018.

As a player Coach Day accepted a full scholarship to Marshall University where he played for two years before transferring to NCAA Division II Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. At Lenoir-Rhyne he played both football and baseball from 1996-1998. Coach Day graduated in 1998 with a degree in Sports Management. Coach Day is also a 1993 graduate from Fairfax High School where he earned 2nd Team All-State at Quarterback and in 2015 was inducted into the Fairfax High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Day currently lives in Brambleton with his wife Courtney who is also a teacher and their beloved dog Archie.

Andrew Butts is entering his 10th year coaching football.  Prior to joining the Riverside staff in 2017, Coach Butts spent 8 years coaching A-League football in the Ashburn Youth Football League.  Coach Butts teams his prior coaching experience and his time in the Marine Corps to provide guidance and leadership to the Rams’ Defensive Backs and the teams Punters.  Coach Butts is a lifelong Loudoun County resident who played football and lacrosse at Stone Bridge High School.   He currently resides in Purcellville with his wife Sam and young son Archer.

Before moving to Loudoun County, he worked for the Department of Defense in the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department serving our countries serviceman & women. Coach Robertson was the Head Track & Field Coach at Park View HS (Sterling, VA) from 2011-2016, during that time he was also a part of the football program coaching varsity offensive & defensive lines as well as serving as Freshman Head Coach. Coach Robertson joined Riverside HS Football program in 2015 during the inaugural Season. Coach Robertson is the programs Defensive Line coach, coaching all levels. He joined the Riverside HS staff in 2016 as a Behavioral Assistant in The Intensive Program. Coach Robertson is also an Assistant Coach for the Riverside Track & Field Program coaching throws.  He lives in Berryville, VA with his wife Hayley and their two children Payton & Maddie, and their dog Rocky.  ?

Coach Deandre Burnette, Freshmen Head Coach.
He is a Northern Virginia native, born and raised. Coach Dre coached in AYFL for 11 years before moving to high school which includes Broad Run, Briar Woods, and now Riverside. He is a proud fiancee and father of 2 boys. When Coach Dre isn't out on the field he enjoys spending time with his boys and their momma, family, and friends.

Coaching Philosophy: Always create a fair, consistent, and challenging place for players to develop their talent, create relationships, and learn life lessons. Make everyone feel they are important to the team. You are only as strong as your weakest link.
