The purpose of this communication is to provide comprehensive information regarding athletics this upcoming school year at Riverside.  

ATHLETIC PAPERWORK:

All students must have submitted a current VHSL Physical AND have completed the online registration in order to participate in any off-season or in-season workouts.  Instructions are posted on RiversideRams.Net under “Required forms for Participation.”  All interested athletes, please complete the online registration  for the upcoming school year now so you are ready for any out of season workouts.  Choose one sport per season in which you are interested in participating this year. Please scan and email the completed physical to Matt.Oblas@LCPS.org.  Parents, if you would like to confirm your child’s paperwork/eligibility, please email your head coach.  Please note: new state law now allows physicals to be valid for 14 months from the date of the last physical.  Please make sure to stay current with that 14 month timeline to maintain eligibility for your child.  

Important Dates:

Fall Sports Parent Meeting---This Monday, August 11th, 7PM (Main Gym).  This Meeting is for all fall sports parents.  

Winter Sports Begin---November 10

Spring Sports Begin---February 23

BOOSTER CLUB MEMBERSHIP:

The Riverside Athletic Booster Club continues to support all Riverside athletic programs with great generosity.   All funds collected by the booster club (membership, concessions, corporate sponsorship advertising) goes completely to our athletic programs.  This past year, the booster club gave over $65,000 directly to our teams!   The booster club has recently paid for athletic hallway flooring (extending functional space of the weight room), trophy cases, athletic fencing, annual scholarships, and much more.  Booster club membership is again available to families.  We would love for all families to become members of the booster club.  Tax-deductible membership only costs $40 and is available to sign up at https://threshold.formstack.com/forms/rams_athletic_booster

ATHLETIC ADMISSION:

GoFan is the digital athletic ticketing provider for LCPS this year and moving forward.  Admission for LCPS athletic contests for the 2025-26 school year remains $7 per person (under 6 and over 62 years of age are free.)  

SEASON PASSES:

LCPS season passes are also on sale and are valid for admission for the immediate family in the same home, and grant permission for all home regular season games in LCPS (there also an option for only Riverside home games).  Season passes are a great savings for families who will attend at least a handful of home games throughout the school year.  The link to purchase season passes is https://gofan.co/app/school/VA68178.

EARN MONEY FOR YOUR TEAM:

 The Riverside Athletic Booster Club has tremendous opportunities to raise money for your team.  By selling a sponsorship banner, 100% of the banner profit goes directly to the team of your choosing.  If you own a business, work for a business, have a lead with a business, please consider selling this advertising opportunity with banner sponsorship at our athletic venues.  The banner sponsorship program is available at https://riversiderams.net/main/bfiles.  Make the connection with the business, then connect the business with the athletic office, and we’ll take it from there.  This is a great way for teams to fundraise, and for parents to help those teams.

PREFER TO MAKE A DONATION TO THE ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB:

 You can always  make a tax deductible donation to the athletic booster club (feel free to designate that to a certain team).  Four ways to donate:  1. Venmo: @Go_Rams, 2.  NFHS NETWORK TO WATCH ATHLETIC CONTESTS.  

LCPS and Riverside continues its partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast our Rams athletic events LIVE.  That means that if you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched from anywhere on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV.  Anyone with a subscription can watch any of our athletic contests.  By subscribing to the NFHS Network you get full access to all content on the network for our school and any other broadcast nationwide!  Subscribing is easy: 1. Go to NFHSNetwork.com.  2.  Enter “Riverside High School—Leesburg, VA” in the search box.  3. Click “Follow” so you can stay up to date on all upcoming Rams broadcasted events.  4. Click “Subscribe” for all subscription options for our school.  This subscription is made with the NFHS Network, not LCPS.  The subscription can be monthly or annual.  Note that the subscription allows viewing for any game on the NFHS Network in the country, as well as all main gyms, stadiums, most baseball fields, and most softball fields in LCPS. 

An important note about SCHOOL ATTENDANCE:

Per LCPS training rules, a student must be at school by 9:30am (on time for school), and stay in school all day in order to play or practice that day.  Students who arrive after 9:30am, skip class, leave early, etc. are ineligible to play or practice that day.  Exceptions are made for doctor’s appointments with a doctor’s note noting that your child is cleared to play or practice that day.  

A BETTER WAY ATHLETICS:

LCPS has partnered with a phenomenal group that provides great resources for a healthy perspective in high school sports.  We encourage all coaches, parents, and athletes to look through their materials.  Their “courses” are very short and engaging videos that are very worthwhile.  All of this is free of charge to users.  Please login and browse their material.  The parent portal registration link is:

PICTURE ORDERING INFORMATION:

Legacy Studios is excited to photograph Riverside High School's 2024-2025 athletic teams!  All sports team images will be available to view and order online after picture day.  Here are a few tips for accessing your images: 

• All images will be posted to our website 5 to 7 days after picture day. 
• Images can be accessed via this link: Legacy Studios Events or by going to events.legacystudios.com. 
• Please use code 453926 to view your images on the website. 
• Please note that if your images have not uploaded to the site yet, when entering that code you'll receive a 'Gallery not found' notification.  Please allow 5 to 7 days after picture day before trying to access your images to avoid any frustration.
• You will have the option to select the images you'd like to order, ie: team, individual, etc. as well as the border for your prints and the text you'd like on the images, including your athlete's name. 
• Continue to check the website throughout the season as we’ll make sports and activities action images available for ordering, as well.  Sports action images are uploaded during the season as they're taken.  Not all games are photographed. 
• All ordered packages will be delivered directly to the athlete's home, not returned to the school. 
• Pre-ordering is not available for sports team and individual photos.

ImPact Concussion Baseline Testing:

All students in LCPS must complete the online ImPact Concussion Baseline testing before their sports season.   Instructions to complete the online test follow:
